In order to further increase flight safety, yesterday on 2 June 2009 the Minister of Transportation initiate Radar MSSR at the airport that is four Sultan Hasanuddin Airport Makassar, Juanda Airport Surabaya,  Sepinggan Airport Balikpapan and Syamsudin Noor Airport of Banjarmasin.

Director of PT. Angkasa Pura I (Persero) Bambang Darwoto explain this radar facilities worth Rp 628.5 billion, this is a rejuvenation radar equipment in the field of aviation safety.

In an official announcement this radar facility in the area of Hasanuddin Airport Makassar said that he needed a new radar radio waves that have a more stable (MSSR) which can lead to the position of the target (aircraft) is more accurate.
